What We Accept

All items must not weigh more than what one person can carry into the store by themselves.

Donors may not, under any circumstance, leave items outside either the front door or inside the hallway next to the FreeStore during hours that we are closed. We could lose our lease if this happens.

Donated items are welcome on Donation Days, currently Wednesdays 4-8pm and Sundays from 12-4pm. Please check the Media FreeStore Facebook page for updates.

A note of caution:  Volunteers at the FreeStore are there to keep the doors open and to organize within the Store if they feel called to do so. They cannot help you, most of the time, carry items to/from your car, clean your items, pack/wrap your items; often our volunteers have physical challenges that preclude this kind of help, or they may be the only person sitting the store, or they may have children with them, or be busy with other things. Come prepared to have a "self-service" experience. And if you need special assistance for some reason, a smile, a "please," and a "thank you" go a very long way.

  • Books; audio-books; music (records and CDs); NO VHS tapes
  • Small appliances (in working order)
  • Artwork, knick-knacks, and other types of home décor
  • Small pieces of furniture; rugs; lamps
  • Toys (with all the pieces; in good condition)
  • Tools and tool boxes
  • Jewelry
  • Electronic equipment (in working order)
  • Kitchen items (if you have knives, please alert us to them so no one is hurt accidentally)
  • Small baby items (slings, small strollers, pumps, etc.)
  • Craft items
  • Office supplies

Clothing and food donations can be given to the clothing closet and food pantry, housed in the basement of this building. Please call the Church - (610) 566-3172 - for their current hours or if you want to make other arrangements for donating clothing or food.

We reserve the right to reject things from the store due to space limits or any other reason the volunteer deems reasonable. If things are brought in dirty or broken, we really can't accept them at the Store. We will not accept anything that smells of cigarette smoke due to the environmental hazard third-hand smoke creates. Thanks for understanding this.

We cannot accept: car seats; mattresses or bed pillows; chemicals or cleaners; open paint or solvent cans; toner and ink cartridges; any hazardous waste of any kind; pets.
